School Consultation and Advocacy

Description: This course will engage educators in research, reflection, and experiential learning.  The primary objectives of this course are to increase knowledge and skills in the practice of consultation and advocacy.  A review of collaborative consultation and effective school interventions for improving student outcomes provides a theoretical basis for the course.  Active application and critique of skills are expected and necessary components in the development of skills as an advocate and consultant.  This training provides the student services professional with knowledge and skills to conduct indirect service delivery through consultation and advocacy.
