What is e-Learning for Educators?
e-Learning employs a web-based model for learning instruction to offer educators a convenient online platform for high-quality professional development opportunities. The project is a collaboration between Maryland Public Television and the Maryland State Department of Education.
e-Learning blends three essential components for relevant Online Professional Development (OPD) for K-12 teachers:

Collaboration:
- Training and products are collaboratively developed and shared throughout ten participating public television stations and their state education partners.
- Project is aligned with relevant priorities identified by each state.
- Led by State Leadership Team with members representing key education initiatives.
Capacity-Building through online training and professional development:
- Online facilitator and course developer training.
- Online workshop delivery targeting core content areas.
Evaluation and Research:
- Formative and summative evaluation to guide and improve the initiative.
- Ground-breaking research to inform the field of OPD.
