Over the past five years, Maryland has experienced significant and consistent increases in new and beginning teachers. MINT - Maryland Initiative for New Teachers supports these teachers through statewide and regional collaboration, resources, newsletters, incentives, and opportunities to socialize and participate in professional development.

Every year, each of Maryland's 24 school systems nominates a Teacher of the Year candidate. Through this, Initiative MINT and Thinkport are able to help share their knowledge and experience with other educators, especially new teachers.
