An innovative, first-of-its-kind collaboration between Maryland Public Television (MPT) and Carroll County Public Schools brings modern multimedia into the classroom. The SCOPE (Students Create Original Projects to Educate) project engages high school students in interactive learning through the creation of digital media to demonstrate their knowledge on key financial literacy topics. To extend and expand learning into the community, high school students will use their original projects to teach younger audiences about core financial literacy concepts.
Another fundamental component of the project is to connect families, students, teachers and consumers to relevant financial literacy resources, including links to helpful web sites, stimulating interactive games and multimedia, and trusted educational and financial organizations.

Breaking new ground, the SCOPE project will serve as a model for other school districts and public television stations and is one part of a comprehensive three to five year financial literacy initiative from MPT. Link to MPT.org to learn more about the initiative.
The project was funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
