A technology magnet school's mandate is to be on the cutting edge of integrating technology and education. Dana Novotny has succeeded in fulfilling this mission with even the youngest students at Cromwell Valley Regional Magnet School of Technology in Baltimore County. As a technology integration teacher, she has planned and implemented lesson plans for students from Kindergarten to Grade 5. She also started an ePortfolio program that allows students to showcase their own work. Her commitment to technology in education does not stop with the classroom. In addition to managing the school’s technology resources, she has created teacher learning groups and taught countywide teacher in-services. Novotny has also been a recipient of several Best Buy Teach grants, which have allowed her school to purchase critical hardware.
