A former industrial arts teacher, Barry Clark brings this sensibility to his current role as a technology education teacher. His students at Southern Middle School in Anne Arundel County take apart computers and put them back together again. They study and build a Magnetic Levitation vehicle and a model bridge. Along the way, they study technology systems, research and design using the Internet and software, and present their findings through electronic means. His involvement countywide has included curriculum development, textbook selection, and staff instruction. He created an “Emergency Response Codes Project,” a PowerPoint presentation that details fire drill procedures, and emergency response plans and codes.
