This year there were entries from more then 4,300 sites from over 40 countries.  The Awards are determined by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, a global organization whose mission is to help drive the creative, technical, and professional progress of the Internet and evolving forms of interactive media. In addition, the Academy also recognized both Thinkport.org and Villany, Inc. as Webby Worthies, an honor bestowed on less than 20% of the entries.

The Webby winners were honored in New York City on June 6th. The event was hosted by Rob Corrdry of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. More than 400 luminaries from the fields of media, advertising, business, technology, entertainment, politics and the arts were in attendance.
