Settlers in Maryland (Windows Media)
Settlers who arrived in Maryland on March 25, 1634 came by invitation of Lord George Calvert. The group included many wealthy men as well as indentured servants, who had committed to work five – seven years in exchange for their passage to the New World and a chance to become landowners themselves. In this clip, explore how these people came together to form a new government and begin to build a new economic future together.
