Water/Land/Soil
This lesson allows students to learn about the concept of pH and to understand the impact that acid rain has on the environment and human health.
Students explore the dangers of high levels of mercury and learn how small amounts of mercury in water accumulate in greater quantities in organisms higher in the food chain
Students will use the Internet to research the Gwynns Falls/ Leakin Park area, in light of a fictional proposal for the development of a $100million dollar golf course along the trail there.
Students take a closer look at what happens to the trash that is deposited on a daily basis and how it may affect their environmental health.
Students are challenged to think about the importance of clean water in their lives as they learn about the methods used to rid water of harmful contaminants.
