MIT Brings Their Games to Some Lucky Kids

Scot Osterweil and his team at the Education Arcade have begun the paper prototype testing of some of their LG2G puzzles with kids at Boston’s Dudley Square Boys and Girls Club.

This is an especially important stage of game development, says Scot, because it's an opportunity to get feedback on the puzzles from the kind of kids who will eventually play the LG2G game. And at this early stage of game development (when the puzzles still live on paper and not in an complex digital tangle of zeros and ones), the kids' feedback is relatively easy for the team to incorporate back into their designs.
And speaking of those designs, Scot reports that the team has now completed preliminary designs for about half of all the puzzles that will ultimately comprise the LG2G game. The Education Arcade has also begun working closely with new LG2G collaborator, FableVision, to conceptualize and develop protocols for the actual implementation of the designs.
