Math in Everyday Life for Grades 6-8

In this course, teachers will explore ways to incorporate real-world math into classroom activities according to their grade level. Participants will learn exciting and effective ways to enrich their math curriculum while meeting national educational standards. Participants will also develop activities that use a variety of technologies and engage students in problem-solving activities on such topics as storage capacity, room size, and global population.
Courses are $150 per credit with early registration discounts.

Pre - Requisites:
To complete a course successfully, it is important for participants to be comfortable working online. Access to the Internet at home is required. Each participant should have a working understanding of e-mail and the Internet. It is necessary to have an e-mail address for communication and word processing and printing capabilities. Some knowledge of virtual communities, either in the form of online bulletin board use, listserv subscriptions, or synchronous chatting, is helpful, but not required. Also, many participants have achieved success by registering and working through a course with others at their local school. Participants are requested to complete the Practice Learning Online Course.
